A Nice Day for a White Wedding

And I mean a white wedding, literally!  Last weekend I went out to the Reno/Lake Tahoe area for my husband’s cousin’s wedding, and it snowed several inches during the outdoor event.  I had to do some last minute wardrobe changes to accommodate the weather (my short sleeveless dress had some leggings and a wool sweater added to the ensemble and pumps were replaced with snow boots)  But it was worth it, the scenery was incredible!

This wasn’t my first time photographing in the snow, but the big challenge was trying to shoot portraits while the snow was coming down.  I left the camera in autofocus so I had quite a few photos that were focused on the snow in front of the subject instead of the subject itself.  But I’ll stick with my mantra “if you take 500 photos you’re bound to get at least a few good ones”.  Only problem is then you have to take the time to go through all of them =)

Congratulations Ashley & Ryan!!
