Last week I had an amazing, albeit too short, trip to NYC. I was spoiled by my aunts, had my uncle Brian as a fantastic tour guide, ate delicious food, and shopped to my hearts content. But in the midst of that I very nearly avoided photography disaster!
I chose not to take my DSLR to NY with me since I knew I’d be doing a lot of walking and didn’t want to tote it around the whole time. Instead I took my husband’s point and shoot, which broke halfway through watching Sting perform on the Today show! I’ve been intending to by my own compact camera just for these occasions, but hadn’t done a whole lot of research. Usually when I buy a new piece of equipment I agonize over all the choices, price shop when I finally decide what I want, and then end up exchanging whatever I buy and hope I end up with something I like. This time it was do or die, buy a new camera or go home with no visual evidence!
I’ve had good luck with Sony cameras in the past, so I ran into the Sony store, made the quickest decision I’ve probably made on anything in my life, and walked out with a new Cybershot complete with a 10x optical zoom, 14 megapixels, and a host of cool features. Hope you enjoy my first collection with the new camera!
